Police arrest man in Keizer shooting

Keizer Police Department officers arrested a man suspected of shooting a woman in the leg last month.

Christian Diaz, 20, was arrested Wednesday, July 7, in connection with a shooing incident in Keizer on June 25.

KPD officers responded to a report of shots fired on June 25 at 8 p.m. near the intersection of River Road North and Cummings Lane North. One vehicle involved in the incident was located and a 18-year-old female passenger was found shot in the leg. The male driver and the woman’s infant child were unharmed. The woman was transported to Salem Health Hospital for treatment.

The driver was taken to the Keizer police station and interviewed. He identified the suspect during the interview.

Diaz was arrested at approximately 11 a.m. July 7. He was taken to the Marion County jail and charged with three counts of attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of a weapon. His bail was set at $70,000.
