One type of clothing store was confirmed for Keizer Station last month with confirmation maurices is coming.

Now comes word of another type of clothing store coming to Keizer Station: Carhartt.

Tim Kuhn with Chicago-based RGLA Solutions Inc. recently submitted an application for a Carhartt store, with the value listed as $175,000.

The Keizer Station website (www.keizerstation.com) lists Carhartt as “coming soon.”

Lindy Mueller, director of Product Media Inquiries for Michigan-based Carhartt, confirmed the news Wednesday morning.

“A lease is signed and executed at the Keizer location,” Mueller said in an e-mail. “We are looking towards a late September/early October opening.”

Mueller said the Keizer Station location at 6385 Ulali Drive NE Suite 101 will be the second Carhartt-owned store in Oregon, with the other being in Portland. Carhartt clothing is available at a number of other retailers around the Northwest.

Nate Brown, director of Community Development for Keizer, said the maker of work clothes will be going into the space vacated by Payless Shoes at the end of 2012.

“It is in place of the shoe store, by GameStop, who is not moving,” Brown said.

The space was used on a temporary basis last year by Men’s Wearhouse while that retailer’s building on Keizer Station Boulevard was rebuilt following a fire.

Mayor Lore Christopher also posted the news about Carhartt on her Facebook page Tuesday evening.

According to the Carhartt website, while the company’s clothing is available in stores such as Fred Meyer around the Northwest, the only actual Carhartt store within 150 miles of Keizer is the one in Portland.

City Manager Chris Eppley said Carhartt is one of four Keizer Station permits currently being reviewed by Marion County staff, joining Gustav’s, maurices and  Chipotle Grill.

Chipotle Grill is the restaurant going in alongside the new maurices building, which will be going up next to Old Navy.

Plans submitted to the city show the  Chipotle Grill having outdoor seating in addition to the 2,240 square foot space for the restaurant portion of the building.
