Santa’s been seen around town in recent weeks, but will make the first of two official pre-Christmas trips to Keizer on Sunday, Dec. 15, for the Keizer Fire District’s annual Breakfast with Santa. He will sit for photos with the kids for a nominal fee to support the Keizer Volunteer Firefighters Association.
The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs and ham. Milk and coffee will also be served.
The cost of the breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for children age 12 and under. Meal service begins at 7 a.m. and wraps up at 11:30 a.m.
After reloading his sleigh with candy canes, Mr. Claus will return to Keizer Saturday, Dec. 21, to visit kids in local neighborhoods.
The district will provide chauffeur service as Santa delivers the contorted treats to good girls and boys on every street in Keizer. All of the reindeer will have the day off. He will travel every street except short cul de sacs, where the vehicle will stop short and volunteers will sound the siren to invite children to come out.
Santa and district volunteers will begin delivering candy canes at 8:30 a.m. The route is not announced in advance, so families should listen for the sounds of Santa’s arrival: sirens and holiday music played from his fire truck.
