An injury helped fuel the McNary High School varsity volleyball team’s win over North Salem High School Thursday, Oct. 17.

“Hailey (Herrin) busted her ear on the bleachers during the game. Because of that we got excited and wanted to win the match for her,” said senior McKenzie Evers.

The Lady Celts rode the momentum to a 3-0 win with set scores of 27-25, 25-19 and 25-16.

“Ariana Neads, Lexi Price and Macana Wyatt anchored us defensively and Alyssa Andretta and Maddie Hingston did a great job offensively,” said Kellie Scholl, McNary head coach.

Hingston led in kills with eight, and Andretta Vanessa Hayes and Lauren Hudgins had five each. Neads served up five aces and Price had 12 digs
