This year’s Festival of Lights Holiday Parade will feature some events aimed toward the youth in Keizer.

Cheryl Mitchell, organizer of the parade taking place in Keizer for a third time on Dec. 14, said Radio Disney is partnering with parade officials this year.

The 24th annual parade rolls down River Road in Keizer starting at 7 p.m. that evening.

Formerly, the parade took place in Salem but has quickly become a Keizer holiday tradition.

Radio Disney is helping with the parade – both the day of and earlier. The affiliate of Disney Corporation has radio stations all over the country, with a target audience of children and families.

“They are setting up a kid village with all kinds of stuff for kids before the parade at the corner of River Road and Chemawa Road, by the Starbucks,” Mitchell said.

According to its website, Radio Disney is carried on KDZR 1640 AM out of Lake Oswego.

Mitchell said Radio Disney will runs promos on the station advertising this year’s parade.
