It certainly wasn’t the news Kurt Barker was expecting.
That’s a good thing.
The president of the Keizer Youth Sports Association had been flustered by a series of recent vandalism acts at Keizer Little League Park. Vandals had destroyed dugouts, torn down a score box, uprooted picnic tables and tipped over portable toilets.
Last weekend there was an unexpected development in the case: Keizer Police Department officers have found four suspects.
“It’s shocking,” Barker said. “It’s the first time we’ll get resolution out of these vandals.”
As of Wednesday morning, Sgt. Andrew Copeland with the KPD said no arrests have been made yet.
“We do have some people in mind,” Copeland said. “We have suspects we are potentially looking at. We have some really good leads that we feel will lead to some arrests and convictions.”
