More than 300 Keizer choral students will take the stage in the McNary High School Ken Collins Auditorium Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The McNary area fifth grade honor choir, as well as honor choirs from McNary, Whiteaker and Claggett Creek will perform. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed.

The fifth grade honor choir is an auditioned choir made up of fifth graders from the McNary feeder schools. The students are chosen by the schools’ music teachers based on singing ability and musical experience.

Honor choirs are intended to give students an opportunity to expand their musical skills, to give students a window into choral music throughout the years of middle school and high school and to provide the community a window into the quality music education occurring at all grade levels.

Students have been rehearsing with the other schools’ members and the area music teachers three days a week after school at McNary.
