Ever used a pumpkin as a bowling ball?

That’s one of several activities children of all ages can partake in at Valley Flower Garden’s Fall Festival.

Valley Flower Garden is located at 6755 Keizer Station Boulevard, right behind Volcanoes Stadium. The festival runs each Thursday through Sunday from now until Nov. 3. Hours are 3 to 10 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 7 p.m. Sundays.

General admission is $5, which includes games, a corn maze and a petting zoo with sheep. A 10-minute hay ride is $1 extra. Pumpkins can also be purchased, at either $1 for a small or $3 for a large.

Jonathan Kerr, manager of his parents’ farm on the property, has been getting everything ready for the inaugural festival.

“The first idea for this came from my friend, Justin Ditchen,” Kerr said. “We were trying to think of something to grow. My family thought it was a good idea.”
