When it comes to parks in Keizer, two have received plenty of attention in the past year from the Keizer City Council.
In that regard, it’s not overly surprising that Keizer Rapids Park and Keizer Little League Park will be two of the three parks featured in an upcoming parks tour.
Members of the Keizer Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will be leading councilors on their annual tour of parks Sept. 9. It’s the second straight year KRP and KLL Park are on the tour. KRP was also on the tour in 2011 and 2010.
Northridge Park is the third park on the tour.
The tour takes the place of the Parks Board’s monthly September meeting. Chair Richard Walsh noted there can be multiple parts for KRP on the tour.
“We will walk them through the Charge (family) house at Keizer Rapids,” Walsh said in reference to the former caretaker’s house which has been the subject of discussion recently for a possible educational center. “Nobody has seen it. We can also chat about the community play area that will be going in near there.”
