A three-year contract for Sandy Husk as superintendent of the Salem-Keizer School District was approved at Tuesday’s School Board meeting.

The contract, which runs from July 1 of this year through June 30, 2016, includes a salary of $198,130 for the current school year, reduced to reflect furlough days taken by the other district administrators, currently six days. For each succeeding school year, there will be the same percentage increments as those for other administrators.

A motion by board member Jeff Faville to rescind an added five days of vacation was rejected, with Paul Kyllo the only other director voting for it. Directors Nancy MacMorris Adix and Chris Brantley noted that other administrators were receiving added vacation days.
