Keizer’s focal point was again a focal point of conversation Monday.
The topic of putting up signs – and for how long – at the fountain located on the southwest corner at River Road N and Chemawa Road N was discussed earlier this month, with the idea being signs could be up for two days to promote events. The topic was debated at length again Monday during the Keizer City Council meeting.
Clint Holland with Keizer Rapids Amphitheater (KRA) LLC asked about getting more time to leave signs up for the 15 summer events at the amphitheater.
“Signs used to be up Sunday through Saturday, then I would take the signs home Saturday night,” Holland said. “I was wondering if I can put it up for longer than two days. The problem with two days is I get there Friday at noon, it’s only up a day and a half.”
Nate Brown, director of Community Development for Keizer, said signs can only be up for 120 days a year total.
“That’s for all community events,” Brown said. “The shorter the time a sign is put up, the more events that can be put up.”
