Future Celt gridder camp meets Wednesday

The McNary High School Future Celtic Football Camp kicks off Wednesday, July 24, at 5 p.m. on Flesher Field.

Cost is $50 and walk-up registrations will be accepted. The camp runs until 7 p.m. and is open to students in grades one through eight. The three-day camp ends Friday, July 26.

Campers will receive instruction on defensive tactics like tackling and pursuit, offensive blocking, moves and jukes, and ball security, and individual instruction for those in all positions on the field.

Campers should wear T-shirts, shorts and cleats and bring along a large water bottle.

The Celtic cross country and soccer programs will host camps in August.

Cross Country campers will leave at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, for Cape Lookout State Park on the Oregon coast and return Friday, Aug. 9, at 4 p.m. Cost is $50 and includes transportation, camp fees, food and drink for the week.

Soccer camp for students in fourth through sixth grade will be held Aug. 5 to 8 at McNary from 5 to 6:15 p.m. Camp for high school-aged athletes begin Aug. 12 and runs through Aug. 15. Times are 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Cost is $40 for each camp.
