Francis V. Lucero was perhaps the cleanest burglar ever arrested by Keizer Police Department officers.

Lucero was zestfully clean since homeowners found him taking a shower July 1 in their residence on the 400 block of Appleblossom Avenue N.

According to Sgt. Lance Inman with the KPD, a couple arrived home and found Lucero taking a shower. The wife called 9-1-1 while the husband physically restrained the 29-year-old La Center, Wash. resident to prevent him from fleeing.

Police arrived within two minutes of the 9-1-1 call and found Lucero wearing only a towel around his waist as the homeowner was still attempting to restrain him. Lucero was taken into custody after a brief struggle with the responding officers.

Police charged Lucero with one count of burglary and one count of a failure to appear warrant from Multnomah County for dangerous drugs. Bail was set at $42,500.
