An old home was recently torn down along McLeod Lane.

In its place will be 30 new homes.

Plans are moving forward for a new 30-home Aldine Meadows subdivision.

Tim Smith with SRS Development, along with Lee Sjothun, is developing the property. Two companies will be building 15 homes each on the lots.

Construction is expected to start this fall.

“We purchased the property in December of last year,” said Smith, whose Limited Liability Corporation received permission for a street lighting Local Improvement District at the June 17 Keizer City Council meeting. “We didn’t think we would develop it for two or three years. Lee and I thought it was a great piece of property. We’ve been developing lots in Keizer since the early 1990s.
