The Volcanoes lost a tight one to Boise at home Monday, 3-2.

The Hawks led most of the way in the first game of a three-game stand. Preceding the game was a ceremony for Honor America Week for a series that ended Wednesday, just before a trip to Everett. The Volcanoes wore their red, white and blue jerseys.

Two of Boise’s runs came in the first inning. Shawon Dunston Jr. reached first base on a force out of Jacob Hannemann, and Yasiel Balaguert walked. With Jacob Rogers at bat, pitcher Jose Reyes balked, moving up both baserunners. Rogers tripled to right center field, driving both in.
