The McNary High School varsity lacrosse team lost its first playoff game to Glencoe High School Friday, May 17, 15-2.

“The boys started the game strong only down 4-1 going into the second quarter, but Glencoe’s depth and experience got the better of us,” said Ryan Bowlby, McNary head coach.

The loss ousted the Celts from the tournament, but the team had its most successful season since its inception four years ago. McNary finished with an 8-9 record and took second in its league, the North Valley Division.

As a capper, several of the Celts were honored with All-League selections earlier this week. Preston McNeely, Ben Biondi and Jeremy Williams received first team honors. Isaiah Vian, Rob Phelps and Kelly Cowan were part of the second All-League team. Celt goalie Austin Fisher received an honorable mention for his efforts.
