Shawna Fenison appreciates her late son being honored.

Now, she hopes Ryan Hill will be remembered for generations to come.

A step towards that took place Monday evening, as emotional members of the Keizer City Council unanimously approved a resolution to name park property in Keizer Station Area A the PFC Ryan J. Hill Memorial Park.

Surrounded by friends and family members, Fenison talked lovingly about her son, believed to be the only Keizer resident killed in war since the city was incorporated in 1982.
