It’s possible for someone to not know Karissa Rush’s name, but anyone who has spent time in the McNary High School hallways likely knows her work.

She’s had a hand in nearly every poster for productions of the McNary drama department, she’s created posters for choir concerts and her latest work is the ticket design for the sports banquet dinner and auction.

“I started taking photography when I was a freshman. From there, I got interested in doing graphic design with the posters because I love playing with the typography,” Rush said.

While the posters generally arrive as assignments for a class, Rush’s typography work is the one element that usually rises to the fore. Other students typically contribute illustrations or photography.
