Lady Celt Stacey Titchenal had a big weekend at the Oregon Relays hosted by Wilsonville High School.

The senior recorded a mark of 139-02 in the javelin to send her soaring to the top of the ranks in the Central Valley Conference and to the top two in the state for the girls’ event.

“I’m only now at where I wanted to be at the beginning of my junior year. I’d put a lot of pressure on myself last year and it hurt me. This year, I’m trying to be more relaxed about it and make little changes that have helped,” Titchenal said.

The mark narrowly missed a new school record. Titchenal will have to beat 140-5 to put her name in the books.

“I’m hoping to be in the mid-140s by the time the district meet rolls around,” she said.
