The McNary High School varsity baseball team is 0-2 after two Central Valley Conference games.

Quiet bats proved the undoing of the team as it lost to South Salem High School Monday, April 8, and West Salem High School Tuesday, April 9. Both games ended in 5-1 wins for the other team.

The Saxons took a 3-0 lead and rode the momentum through the seventh inning for the win.

Ty Wyatt and Jon Stong were the most productive at the plate for McNary in the South Salem game. Both players went 2 for 3 at the dish. Wyatt had a double. Cody Jackson knocked in Stong for the Celts’ only run.

In the West Salem game, Wyatt belted a home run as he went 2 for 3 at the plate. Jordan Barchus went 2 for 2, Zac Fegles went 3 for 3 and had a sacrifice bunt that moved Barchus to second base. Jackson also went 2 for 2.

Wyatt’s home run tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning, but a four-run seventh lifted the Titans over the Celtics.
