Come July, Keizer Station will have a new first: a sit-down restaurant.

Company officials have confirmed the Outback Steakhouse under construction should be open sometime that month.

Jon Lakefish, director of Franchise Marketing for Evergreen Restaurant Group, said an exact opening date isn’t known yet.

“The opening date is sometime in July, likely the early to mid part,” Lakefish told the Keizertimes March 29. “This is indeed going to be an Outback. It will be a relocation. We are moving the Salem one to Keizer.”

Lakefish said that means Tim Flora, currently managing partner of the Outback on Lancaster Drive in Salem, will be the manager at the Keizer Station location.
