KEIZER – Lenore “Lenn” M. Pickett, 76, passed away on March 9, 2013. She was born Oct. 3, 1936 to Frank & Opal (Garrett) Nieswander in Salem, Oregon. Lenn attended Englewood Grade School, Parrish Jr. High and graduated from Salem High School in 1954. She met husband, Bill, in 1954 and they married on April 9, 1955 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She worked at Salem Electric, the law office of Clark & Marsh, and for more than 20 years was the office manager for Salem Eye Center, retiring in 1997. Lenn was an active member of the family church, Knight Memorial, in Salem for many years. She spent her entire life in the Salem/Keizer area, working and raising her family & spending time with her many friends. Lenn was a member of the PTA, a Cub Scout and Bluebird leader and enjoyed watching her children’s concerts and various sporting events. She rarely missed a game or concert of her grandchildren. Lenn loved the changing seasons of Oregon, although Kauai was her home away from home. She took each grandchild on their first trip to Hawaii. She loved to travel, loved the Oregon coast and grew up taking Sunday drives to nowhere in particular with her mom, dad and siblings. Lenn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; father, Frank, Sr.; mother, Opal; brothers Lee & Frank, Jr. and sister Jean Rostad. She is survived by her three children – Thom Pickett (Brenda); Pam Pickett; and Janice Eggleston (Todd); three grandchildren – Carly Garvin (Rob); Taylor Pickett; and Natalie Pickett (Khalifa); four great-grandchildren Gracelynn Atkins, Walker Atkins, Griffen Garvin and Hadlee Garvin. Surviving nieces and nephews include Sue Shiarla (Don); Kathy Tosti (Lou); Scott Rostad; Clark Rostad (Stella); and Brent Rostad (BJ) and her dear friend and “Sis” of almost 60 years, Barb Pike. She cherished every moment with her family and friends. Her infectious smile will be missed by all.
