Headed into their first ever home game at McNary High School’s Flesher Field last week, the Celtic lacrosse team was 3-0 and riding high on their best start to a season ever.

“We beat Hillsboro and Century (high schools) right off the bat and they were both ranked higher than us in the state,” said McNary senior Jake Peterson.

Unfortunately, the Celts couldn’t withstand the offensive onslaught of the Sisters High School Outlaws Thursday, March 21, and the team took its first loss, 11-3.

Goals by Rob Phelps, Ben Biondi and Preston McNeely managed to take the wind out of the Outlaws’ sails only briefly.
