So it is still the Keizer Rapids Boat Ramp.

But if you want to call it Walsh’s Landing, that will be fine.

To get there, simply take Walsh’s Way.

Amid some confusion, Keizer City Councilors approved two motions regarding the ongoing question of what to call the boat ramp at Keizer Rapids Park. The boat ramp was dedicated last October.

Since then, questions have swirled about what to call the boat ramp. Some wanted to keep the name the same, while some wanted it named after Richard Walsh, whose efforts while on council helped make the park a reality. More recently, a compromise was suggested: keeping the original name but adding an  “aka Walsh’s Landing” as an unofficial marker.

Rhonda Rich, president of the West Keizer Neighborhood Association, expressed concern changing the name of the boat ramp would create conflict since maps would show a different name. Instead, she supported the road name.
