Ted Plumb and Marc Adams both started at the Keizer Police Department in December 1997.

While Adams is retiring as police chief later this year, Plumb left the department last week.

Except Plumb didn’t retire, per se. For the past 15 years, he has volunteered time with the KPD. He retired from his job at Salem’s wastewater treatment plant in 2007, but has made his mark cleaning up marks for the police department.

Plumb was honored by Adams during Monday night’s Keizer City Council meeting for his service, which makes him the second longest serving volunteer in KPD history.
