Building a press box for the McNary High School baseball team seemed like a relatively easy chore as Randy Jackson sat down to sketch out a basic design at his kitchen table.

“We’d had a parent meeting for the team last spring and the press box was on Coach (Larry) Keeker’s wish list of future projects. I went home and drew up a rough plan for what it could look like,” said Randy Jackson, parent of McNary senior Cody Jackson and deputy fire chief at Keizer Fire District.

He ran the design by Keeker and sent it up the chain at the school district for approvals before approaching the Keizer Rotary Foundation with a request to fund it.
