Spending a Sunday summer afternoon in a park has an appealing sound to it.

Starting June 2 and continuing every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Labor Day, the new Keizer Sunday Market will be held at Chalmers Jones Park, located just behind Keizer Civic Center at 930 Chemawa Road North.

“We’re expecting a small market,” said Tina Schneider, secretary of the Salem Saturday Market Board of Directors. “We anticipate about 40 vendors. The emphasis will be on produce. We’ll have crafts and hot food as well. We may even get some bakeries in there.”
