Chemawa to be done this year

Let’s try that again.

A year ago, the plan was to have a redone Chemawa Road North done by the end of 2012.

That didn’t happen. Now the plan is the same, with everything pushed back a year.

Bill Lawyer, Public Works director for Keizer, gave an update on the plans at a Jan. 10 West Keizer Neighborhood Association meeting at Keizer Civic Center.

The Chemawa project would add sidewalks, bike lanes, trees and new signal on a stretch of the road from River Road west to Keizer Rapids Park, at the edge of the city limits.
