Woman wakes up to rifle-toting burglar

A Keizer woman awoke early Sunday morning to find a young man stealing rifles from her Sunset Avenue home.

The victim called 911 at 3:53 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 to report the incident in the 600 block of Sunset Avenue N. She said she heard a noise and found a man she didn’t know standing in her kitchen, holding an armful of rifles he took from her home.

She screamed and the man fled with the rifles in hand. The kerfluffle awoke her husband and neighbors. She said the man also stole her large flat screen television.

Keizer Police along with Salem Police set up a perimeter and attempted to track down the suspect with a police canine assisting. They recovered the television but didn’t find the suspect.

He is described as a Hispanic juvenile between 16 and 18 years old, standing five feet tall, weighing 150 pounds with black hair and wearing blue jeans and a light colored t-shirt with red trim.
