McDonald’s on River Road will soon have a whole new look.

But first, they have to clear out the old building. A near-complete rebuild of the restaurant will start in June, with completion in September.

“The purpose of our rebuild is to serve our customers better,” said Robert Stamm, development director for the northwest region of McDonald’s USA, LLC. “The new design will feature our latest improvements to capacity in the drive thru and kitchen as well as provide an enhanced, contemporary interior décor.”

The location at 2830 Broadway St. NE has already been renovated, and two other Salem stores will be undergoing revisions this year as well. Nationwide the company is committing $1 billion for remodels and rebuilds across the country, with 800 new remodels, 225 rebuilds and 175 new stores planned for 2012 alone.
